A Montana ranching family faces off against others encroaching on their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned rodeo hand. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his Montana accent and reverts to the SoCal voice he normally uses. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Summer TV Shows Not to Consider (2018) Yellowstone is a solidly written drama—great characters, well-crafted—that takes its tone from a few different contemporary masterpieces. It has the atmosphere and cinematography of Longmire, the dark plot and outlook of The Sopranos, and the dramatic dynamics of shows like “Dynasty” or any of the other network dramas similar to it. Much respect goes to Costner and Cole Hauser—these guys give it 100%. I didn’t expect to be drawn to this show the way I did. It’s definitely worth your time.
